Police in Lusaka have launched investigations into the sudden death of a 25-year-old woman identified as Lisa Mutambo.
According to the Zambia Police Service, the report was received at Chelstone Police Station around 09:30 hours on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha said the incident is believed to have occurred between 03:30 and 04:30 hours at Victoria Hospital.
Police stated that on the evening of August 19, Mutambo had been with two female friends at a hotel in Lusaka, where she worked as a brand ambassador. At around 22:30 hours, the three reportedly moved to another drinking place in the city.
Police said Mutambo's boyfriend, identified as Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea, later picked up the three women between 02:30 and 03:00 hours on August 20.
He reportedly dropped the two friends in the Minestone/Casanova area before travelling with Mutambo to their residence in Kalundu.
According to police, Mutambo began vomiting after arriving at the residence and later became unconscious.
Her boyfriend reportedly contacted a friend, who assisted in taking her to Victoria Hospital. However, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police officers processed both the primary and secondary scenes as part of the investigation.
The body was initially taken to FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem is expected to help establish the cause of death.
Police said no physical injuries were observed on the body.
An inquiry file has since been opened, and investigations remain ongoing.
Police have indicated that further information will be released as investigations progress.
